Product description

Season :
Code : STAB90110
Weight : 0KG

The Stages Power meter is the singular product that has delivered power measurement and training to the masses. Stages Power has an impressive range of adaptation over the industry's aluminum crank models. This range puts power meters within the reach of every performance minded rider, from road, to triathlon, to mountain bike and track.

The new G2 or Second Generation Stages Systems have a much improved 'Pod' with the electronics isolated from the battery compartment to protect against moisture interference and with a much improved battery compartment closure. In addition, this new generation also see price drops of up to £100 per unit, making one of the most affordable power systems, even more so.

The patented Stages Power meter brings power-based training to all disciplines of performance cycling. With advanced technology and simple elegant design, the Stages Power meter is perfect for any cyclist whether looking for their first power meter or a savvy power-training expert wanting to add power measurement to a second bike. Regardless of what piqued your interest in power measurement, you’ll find the Stages Power meter to be the lightest, smallest, most technologically advanced unit available today.

Stages Power meters weigh just 20g (plus the crank arm weight) making it the lightest power meter available. In addition Stages Power meters unlike most systems, are 'bilingual' in terms of their communication and use both ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart protocols; the latter gives the ability to ‘future proof’ this power meter with the ability to update its firmware over the air using an iPhone 4S or iPad 3 (or later) devices, while also keeping its housing impenetrably sealed to the elements.

Measuring power at the left arm requires one assumption — that your left and right legs have a balanced power output. Stages have found with thousands of miles of testing, that power differential between legs has no significant influence on ride data and its value as a training tool. This assumption is the tenant to their ability to keep the complexity and cost of the system lower, all the while providing power measurement with ±2% accuracy (of the left leg's measured power).

The assumption of symmetry also gives major advantages over spider based torque measurements, which are forced to add complex algorithms or geometries in order to filter out unwanted torque measurements coming from chain line and crank position.

Ultimately the simplicity of the Stages design means that the Power meter is not only lighter and cheaper but also highly accurate and yields repeatable results with only a very slim margin of error.
