3T PRIMO 2 WPNT All-Road Bike : GRX 1x12 : SAGE GREEN

Season:2026

Brand:3T

For the rider seeking to do it all. The 3T Primo2 is the original aero gravel bike, refined.

The Primo² remains quintessentially 3T with new colours inspired by the company's heritage. It is the most versatile and multipurpose bike in the range, updated with a modern touch. Primo² is optimised for tyres between 35–45mm.

Over the past decade, the Primo has followed a path of constant refinement: never radical shifts, but a steady evolution that kept its identity intact while making it sharper, faster, and more versatile.

The perfect all-round bike. The Primo2 originally existed as 3T’s first foray into the frame market and was known as the Exploro. It was the world's first-ever all-roads aero frame built for speed and comfort on roads and trails beyond the reach of regular road bikes. Never have I witnessed so much excitement from those within the industry when talking about a specific product than I have with the Exploro.

Since its inception, and after incredible reception, the Exploro platform has evolved from the all-round, hyper-versatile platform into more specific niches. Yet despite this, the Primo2 as it is now known, remains an incredibly relevant and versatile bike that can enhance and expand your riding with a single frameset.

The Primo2 has clearance for big tyres to conquer any surface coupled with aerodynamic shapes that work at real speeds, under real conditions on any type of surface. Designed to go anywhere - fast! The 3T Primo2 lead the charge when it came to innovative frame design. Built from the ground up to encompass all modern thinking around bike development, at the hands of Gerard Vroomen - a master of the art - the new 3T Primo2 with its suite of updates, is so well considered that it will keep you in the hunt in a range of disciplines for plenty of time to come. Enjoy every minute, as you go fast everywhere!

The key details are outlined in the Frame description and in the technical section below. Ultimately the Primo2is not only a super accessible bike to enter the world of 3T - but a hugely accomplished product that will keep you fast on any surface and one which will negate (temporarily perhaps) the decision between buying a road bike OR a gravel bike. Have both and tailor your ride with tyres alone.

The new Primo2 is available in 3 key builds: An entry price point mechanical 1x12 Shimano GRX with Aluminium Fulcrum wheels, a Sram Rival AXS 1x13 XPLR Wireless Groupset with the same Fulcrum wheels and finally, that same bike with a 3T Discus 40|30 carbon wheelset. All are shod with optimal width 40-45mm tyres and feature the Semi-Integrale cockpit system for hidden but user friendly access.

Ful specifications and core design principles are in the Technical section below

  • If you are new to the 3T range - it can be confusing as to where to stash your cash. The following overview will focus on each model's optimised form - so consider each on the basis of the majority of your riding. It's worth noting that for 2026 the ULTRA has actually leapfrogged the Extrema in terms of rugged capability - though it is likely that the next iteration of Extrema with regain that title. Of course - these have different target markets too. The Extrema Italia is 100% JAZZ Filament Wound Carbon and race focused. The Ultra is FUSION Carbon and is built for adventure.

    ITALIA signifies 100% Italian Production.
WPNT Frames are (curently) made in the Far East (not unusual) but are shipped to Italy for Painting and finishing - lending them a more impressive finish than many of their counterparts.

ITALIA Frames are made using 3T's proprietary Filament Winding and Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) processess. Essentially very, very strong, insaneley stiff but - as a result of the tech - comfy as hell too.
The introduction of FUSION Carbon (blending JAZZ tubes bonded to preformed junctions made of Pre-Preg Carbon) helps to deliver improved performance well beyond a far eastern pre-preg frameset, while helping to keep costs sensible and production in-house, in Italy. So.... markedly better performance, but sensible price.

WPNT remains far eastern with monocoque construction, but a better paint finish than most thanks to in-house painting in Italy. Expect to see more - Italia suffix bikes moving into the range, and fewer WPNT as the company continues to evolve.

    RANGE:

RaceMaxandRaceMax2 Italia: Both are RACE focused. These are ideal for Fast Gravel riding, from racing or less technical, to tarmac heavy courses. The Racemax2 has greater tyre clearance and an updated frame. Similar geometry, angles, shapes and remit keep them both in the same stable but production techniques are different, as a result, the ride feel changes between RaceMax and RaceMax2 Italia, which is stiffer and faster.

TheUltrahas a similar geometry and fit, but different soul.
The RaceMax frameset is fastest with 35-46mm WAM tyres. It is compatible with up to 61mm WAM 650b tyres. The Ultra is the reverse. It is best with wider WAM 650b tyres thanks to its broader downtube but can run a pretty wide 700c tyre suitable for all but the toughest conditions and surfaces. RaceMax is more about pure speed while the Ultra is about the adventure, bike packing and the gnarliest terrain, while remaining fast on road. Essentially the closest you can get to mountain bike capability on a drop bar.

ThePrimo - the original - is the most versatile bike in the range. It features a more road inspired geometry, partially external cables while still allowing for excellent wheel and tyre versatility. Ride your faster days with 700c road tyres then swap to 650b when adventure calls. The perfect all-round bike for those looking for a one-ride-fits-all. A second wheelset really opens the door on this bad boy!

TheExtremais the latest bike to hit the stable and is built to be fast over longer distances and the toughest, most epic courses. It is700c onlyand features a different geometry designed to keep the rider fast over time through a combination of 3Ts usual aero approaches and sustainable positioning. Oh, and massive tyres!
