C-BEAR Ceramic Bottom Brackets, Bearings and Jockey Wheels

C-Bear are a small company based in Belgium who began producing quality ceramic bottom brackets, bearings and jockey wheels back in 2007. They have been an official partner of the Lotto Soudal pro team since 2009. 

Bart Schouten - C-Bear’s founder - is a passionate cyclist and after seeking out bearings with less friction, reasonable longevity and affordable pricing, decided to share this with his fellow cyclists – us.

There’s a lot of debate about ceramic bearings – all you need to know is that in independent tests performed by Friction Facts, C-Bear are in the top 3 when it comes to Bottom Bracket Efficiency and the top spot is occupied by unsealed bearings only suitable for indoor race conditions.

C-Bear were the first to offer a full array of bottom brackets regardless of bike/crank combination. Unlike most, all C-Bear BBs employ aluminium housings since they are higher precision and require tighter manufacturing tolerances, the result is housings that do not flex and have no tendancy to deform. The use of aluminium housings results in Creak Free bottom bracket solutions and complements C-Bear’s approach to performance. Bearings are positioned as close to the crank as possible in order to maximise stiffness and power transfer.

Aside from the technical benefits of using C-Bear, they are far less fussy bottom brackets than most. Simple to install, there are no lose parts (washers, wave-rings etc) and no loctite; just optimal, tight fit. 

All C-Bear products feature ceramic bearings and have a 2 Year manufacturers warranty. They come in two iterations: Race and AC (All-Conditions) with the AC having tougher seals and a more suitable grease for harsh, wet conditions such as cycloross and MTB.
