The new Vittoria Corsa PRO range is the most advanced cotton tyre ever made, delivering unmatched pro-level racing performance. With Corsa PRO, Vittoria engineers succeeded in incorporating the rubber tyre tread with the cotton casing by using newly developed construction processes. The result is a tread that is completely embedded with the casing, creating a 100% seamless tyre. Corsa PRO features a 320 TPI cotton casing – the finest available in the market – to provide the suppleness, flexibility and comfort pro-riders are used to, now served in an even more flexible, aerodynamic and reliable tyre construction.
Already a winner of 22 stages and 12 one-day races at world tour level since the start of the 2023 season, including Milan San Remo.
Vittoria have long been masters of tyre construction, producing tyres for many other brands on the market. Their 320 TPI Corespun-K technology has been a leading feature of their Corsa Tubular and Open tyres and is a key contributing factor to their suppleness and ride feel. It is this suppleness that lends confidence as the tyres' casing conforms closer to the road’s surface, providing a smoother ride, easier rolling, and better grip. Vittoria's Cotton casing is the lightest, most supple and fastet and is exclusive to the brand and is only enhanced with the new seamless construction.
Vittoria's Tubeless Ready Clincher construction is not technically Clincher, rather it is Open Tubular. Open tubular is a type of clincher tyre that uses the unique construction method of high-end tubulars and avoids the traditional process of vulcanistaion that the likes of Continental, Pirelli and Michellin use; a process that bonds the rubber to the curing agent and hardens the compound - resulting in a harder, less supple and therefore less smooth and grippy tyre.
Indeed, the latest Corsa PRO versions now employ a brand new tread-wrapping and bonding process that allows a seamless application of the tread to the casing.
Vittoria Open Tubulars have exactly the same production process and properties as the Tubulars favoured by Pros for their excellent low weight, speed, control and feel; except for the sewn-in inner tube. Open are handmade with an Aramid folding bead for optimal fit on the rim.
The Vittoria Corsa has long been considered one of - if not the best - performance road tyre available and has been used broadly by the pros in its various forms with victories in all the major races, from Cobbled Classics (Corsa Control), Grand Tours (Corsa) and Grand Tour TTs (Corsa Speed) - in 2018 every Grand Tour Time Trial was won on Vittoria Corsa Speed. Not to mention National and World Championship and Olympic success.
In its original game-changing form, the Corsa employed Vittoria's unique Graphene + Isotech compound that gave the Corsa 19% less rolling resistance compared to the same product without Graphene, whilst also offering superior grip and durability. In combination with the most flexible Aramid-enhanced cotton casing ever developed, the Corsa had the best overall performance of any tyre on the market. Functionalised Graphene 2.0 compound took those innovations even further and built on the already class-leading performance.
The new Corsa PRO continue this trend with a new Graphene + Silca compound that delivers even greater speed with no impact on any of the other key properties of the tyre : grip, suppleness and durability.
The compound offers superior wear resistance and puncture protection without adding weight or compromising any of the impressive grip that sets the Corsa PRO apart, making it one of the most versatile tyres. This versatility is a result of Vittoria's construction, a layering process using separate compounds in the same tread. The process offers unmatched versatility, by allowing for separate base and surface compounds, in both the centre and side areas of the tread giving all the benefits of each compound without any negative impact on performance. A perfect example is the Kevlar reinforced Corespun sidewall where every seventh thread is Kevlar for improved sidewall resilience and puncture protection.
In addition, the Corsa tyres employ a breaker to further improve puncture protection.
While the Corsa PRO is pro riders’ go-to tyre for the majority of one-day races and stage races, Corsa PRO Control version is their choice when dealing with the most extreme road surfaces - such as cobblestones and gravel - as well as the most extreme weather conditions. In fact, the Corsa PRO Control now features a new fishbone texture for increased handling capability when cornering, and a thicker tread for increased puncture protection and extended wear-life, making it the perfect tyre choice at the Northern Classics and Strade Bianche.
Being Corsa PRO and Corsa PRO Control for the most advanced and demanding riders, both tyres are available in Tubeless-Ready version, allowing a very easy-to-install inner-tube configuration as well as Tubeless and Hookless options (depending on width*). Corsa PRO is available in a tubular version too.
Last but not the least, Corsa PRO in clincher version features a QR Code printed on the tyre hot patch through which it is possible for riders to access useful information about the tyre, such as tutorials, recommended air pressures, recommended tubes and accessories.
